Happy Halloween

Jasmine went trick-or-treating last night and had an awesome time. That girl loves candy. I don't think she understood why she just couldn't take the whole bowl. I didn't think that I needed to buy a gender specific costume, but apparently I did. Several people assumed she was a he. Oh well - maybe next year I'll do a better job.

On my way.

Happy Birthday Jasmine

We had Jasmine's 1st birthday party on Sept. 18th. Grandma Bailey got to come out and be with us as well as many friends. Here are some of the pics.

Staying Home

July 15th was my last day at work. It was a bittersweet day; I would be leaving people that I had become friends with. I had worked at Encana ever since we moved out here which was almost 6 years ago. God provided an awesome job for me at an unbelievably good company. He always does more than we could ask or think. Again, God has enabled us to allow me to stay at home now with Jasmine. It is a definite change of pace; so far I'm loving it. It's so fun and exciting so see her smiles when she wakes up from her naps, see the simple things that make her squeal with delight, and I'm just enjoying every minute I have with her. I know there will be challenging days and days that I wish I was back at Encana, but I know deep down that this is where God has me for now (and I hope a long time) and to treasure everything.

Camping

We all went camping over the 4th of July and had a great time. We went to Elbert Creek Campground in Leadville - beautiful area! We had a little bit of rain on Friday evening and then gorgeous weather the rest of the time. Jasmine did great and was quite the trooper. It was difficult at times since she is crawling, but that's one of the many reasons why they make baby wipes. THe days were in the mid 70's and at night it got down into the mid 30's - just a tad chilly. Jasmine had a hard time staying under her blankets and kept getting cold, so we brought her into our sleeping bag - a first. She slept, but I don't think Zach or I did. Nevertheless, we enjoyed being out in creation and just relaxing for a whole weekend. Here's some pics of the trip.

Catching up

So, I'm a little behind in updating the blog. In the past two months a lot has happened. Jasmine has finally cut her first tooth! It only took her 4 months of teething to get it. She also has started crawling and pulling herself up onto anything she can. The biggest change for us is that I will be quitting work on July 16th. I'm really excited about being able to spend time with Jasmine and not have her in day care.

We took Jasmine on her first hike on Memorial Day to Brainard Lake. It was a relatively short hike, which Zach was very thankful for. Jasmine was a trooper!

Jasmine went to the pool for the first time today and as we suspected, she loved it.
